Hartt Community Division Newsletter ~ May 29, 2012

This year we are helping the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Hartford celebrate their 150th anniversary. The Hartt Community Division Dance Department celebrates our sixth year of partnering with local Boys & Girls Clubs in programs that inspire communities with a love of dance. Our outstanding faculty members, Stephen Hankey, Phoenix Matarazzo, and Mary Sylvester meet once a week with young boys and girls from the Asylum Hill, Northwest, Parkville, and Southwest clubs.

An annual spring performance and showcase featuring these artists will be held on Friday. June 1, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the Handel Performing Arts Center's Roberts Theater. Seating is limited to only those family members who have a student participating in the Boys & Girls Club program.

Audition Day Festival: Sunday, June 3

GHYWE Don't miss your chance to audition for the Hartt Community Division's Music Ensemble Program! Audition Day is Sunday, June 3.

You can sign up for an audition anytime online by CCC filling out the online form (click here). You may also stop in the Community Division main office at the Alfred C. Fuller Center in advance or call us at (860) 768-4451 to request an audition time.

Online sign-ups will be accepted until 6:00 pm on Friday, June 1. After Friday, June 1, you may schedule an audition by calling or stopping in the office. Saturday office hours are 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.

The Hartt School's 11th Annual Gala

Make plans now to attend The Hartt School's 11th Annual fundraising Gala on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Hartford Marriott Downtown. Considered one of the most entertaining evenings around, the Gala will feature inspiring performances by talented Hartt collegiate and Community Division students, an enticing array of live and silent auction items, fine dining, and After-Glow dancing for those who don't want the evening to end!

All Gala proceeds benefit Hartt scholarships, tuition assistance, and educational programming. Individual tickets begin at $250 per person and sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information, contact gala manager Monique Aduddell at 860.768.4806 or at harttgala@hartford.edu.
