May is Chamber Music Month!

Chamber Music America (CMA) has designated May as National Chamber Music Month: a celebration of many styles of small ensemble music performed and presented throughout the country. The Hartt School Community Division, a member of CMA, will present several chamber music events this month. We hope you can participate and help celebrate this timeless form of art and expression!

WESQChamber Music Masterclass with the West End String Quartet

Join us for the last Chamber Music Masterclass with the West End String Quartet on Friday, May 4, at 7:30 pm in Room 410/412. Performers are student groups of the Hartt Community Division's Chamber Music Program.

Winds and Brass Chamber Music Day

The Hartt Community Division presents the first Winds and Brass Chamber Music Day on Sunday, May 20, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Enjoy an afternoon of chamber music reading and socializing for middle school and high school wind players from the Hartford area. Feeling shy or intimidated? We will form groups to match varying abilities.

The Play-In welcomes all middle and high school wind and brass players of all levels. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other students who share this interest in and read through music for small ensembles.

The event is free to HCD students who register early online (click here for the online form) or by turning in a paper form (click here to download). There is a $5 Early Registration fee for all non-HCD students. Registration at the door is $10 for both HCD and non-HCD students. Visit the website for more information about the reading sessions.
