CMEA 2012 All-State Festival and Conference |
|
Each spring, the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) hosts the All-State Festival and Conference, gathering music educators and high school music students from across the state. Participating students spend the weekend in rigorous band, orchestra, or choir rehearsals preparing for a final performance on the last day of the festival while teachers attend professional development seminars and workshops. This year, The Hartt School Community Division will have a significant presence at the festival and conference. Many Community Division students have been selected to perform in the festival ensembles and several faculty members will be presenting at the conference.
The Community Division's Connecticut Children's Chorus (CCC) Connecticut Men's Ensemble has received an invitation from the CMEA to sing in a featured concert at their annual conference. The CCC Men's Ensemble was chosen by a CMEA committee and will present selections representing the choir's ability to perform varied literature for men's voices. This continues the CCC tradition of performing in outstanding venues and is an honor to be chosen. the choir will give a 45 minute performance as part of the CMEA conference, held at The Connecticut Convention Center on Saturday, April 14, at 2:30 pm in Room 16.
We congratulate all students who have been selected to participate in this year's CMEA Regional Festivals and the All-State Festival Band, Orchestra and Choir! We would like to recognize each of you for your achievements. Please let us know which festival you participated in by filling out this online form. |
