LGBT Legislation Introduced in Congress
Two important bills for LGBT equality have been introduced in the US Congress this month: the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity from the nation's workplaces, and the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA), which would allow Americans to sponsor same-sex partners for permanent residency. Read more about ENDA in our blog post, "It's time to end workplace discrimination," and about UAFA from the advocacy organization, Immigration Equality. Let your members of Congress know that both of these bills are necessary for LGBT people to gain full equality in the United States.
