March is big month for recruiting LGBT
talent
IBM's Goal: Premier global employer for LGBT employees
Lisa Gable, Manager of U.S. Recruiting for IBM, has this to say about LGBT workforce recruiting,"IBM's goal is to be a premier global employer of LGBT employees. IBM recruits LGBT and other diverse talent not only because we recognize that a diverse population provides greater innovation to our company, but also because we recognize the most important corporate resource we have is our talent."
"Demographics around the world are rapidly changing and the demand for talent is increasing while the supply of skills remains a challenge. We focus on increasing our recruiting efforts among LGBT people; nurturing their careers once they're hired; and multiplying the number of LGBT individuals in our executive ranks."

MetLife's Goal: Reflecting the community they serve
Another recruiting manager, Roxanne Lau-Smyers at MetLife, added this encouraging statement about her company's LGBT employee recruiting initiatives,"MetLife's workforce should reflect the communities we serve and LGBT are part of that community. Not only do we recruit LGBT as part of our diversity recruiting initiatives, we train all employees how to be sensitive to the unique interests of LGBT customers, even when our employees themselves are not members of the LGBT community." Also at MetLife, LGBT employee resource group members are routinely consulted regarding marketing messages and marketing campaigns that target the LGBT community.
