Where are you taking me? He looked over the empty streets.

I only came here carrying my whole life.

Listen now to our friend Levon Walker's new tune "High Up", the story of places his father found himself while raising Levon and his brother in the valley and farm towns of Kentucky. The song ends with what he hopes to be able to do for Ashley and Addair. The song has all the grit and tenderness of a country tune, the dogged faith of an old hymn, and all the dignity of a soul chorus. Have a listen and send it to all your friends, and help promote Levon's music. Check out the all the latest adventures on No Room for Hipsters and download the song here.

Come play with words. Explore how Psalm writing can deepen self-understanding and facilitate spiritual growth. T
hese workshops (THIS Saturday!!) are designed for everyone: those who enjoy writing and those who have never put pen to paper. This will not be a place for judging or critiques, only a generative space for listening. The sessions function independently, so come whenever you're able but plan to stay the entire time.  If you attend All Souls, you are welcome. Please email Lisa Murray if you plan to join (lisa.murray@utk.edu).

10 TO THE CITY

Sunday, September 16 is an important day in the history of All Souls Knoxville. That is the day that the entire Congregation will be asked during the service to brainstorm their ideas about how 10% of our Church budget can be used to make the greatest difference in the City of Knoxville.   At All Souls, we say our purpose is to seek the peace of the City.   How we invest our collective Church tithe (10% of the All Souls budget) will be a visible way to put our resources toward that purpose.

The September 16 brainstorming session will be the first step toward making a final decision on this important issue.   On Sunday, October 21, the Congregation will be asked to refine options that emerge from the September 21 brainstorming; and on Sunday, November 18, the Congregation will be asked to vote on the menu of final options.   All along the way, it is asked that we prayerfully consider two questions:

1.  How do we as a congregation of All Souls Knoxville best seek the peace of the City?

2.  In view of the answer to the first question, what is the best use of the tithe of the All Souls Knoxville church budget?

Please make every effort to attend on September 16 and urge everyone you know in the Congregation to make participating in this "10 TO THE CITY" process a high priority

Elizabeth Gonzalez

Pilgrimage is full, thank you for all who signed up.

Any who didn't make the first class will be added to the November class. We're so excited to have you at All Souls! Please keep coming.
