There's been a lot of buzz lately over the lack of American handcrafts in mainstream gift stores. We want to take this opportunity to reiterate our commitment to carrying items handcrafted in the US. Now more than ever, we are dedicated to showcasing American talent.  We love seeking out new artists such as Beckett Pottery & Duck Creek Pottery & continuing to support local favorites like Carol Cavanaugh, Armine Yergat & Laura Hummel.

Cherry Blossoms, by Jake Raj, will remind you why the quintessential DC event takes your breath away year after year. In addition to beautiful shots of the blossoms from all over the world, Cherry Blossoms contains reflections from writers and poets like Basho, Percy Shelley and Mark Twain.

Georgetown Pottery ikebana

It all started in 1912 with the gift of 3,000 cherry trees from the mayor of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. Each spring this enduring legacy & symbol of friendship fills the tidal basin with beautiful blossoms that draw more than a million visitors annually. In light of the challenges Japan will face rebuilding in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami, we have designated April gift wrapping donations to the American Red Cross . We are also selling ikebanas, a beautiful Japanese style flower vase, made by Georgetown Pottery and donating $5 from each sale to the relief efforts.
