Katie Pickard Fawcett will be signing her debut young readers novel To Come and Go Like Magic. It tells the story of 12-year-old Chili Sue Mahoney, growing up in eastern Kentucky during the 1970's & dreaming of leaving Appalachia. Katie has been an Artisans customer for years & we never knew she was writer!
Renee Fisher will be signing Saving The Best for Last: Creating Our Lives After 50. Sequel to her popular
Invisible No More, it expands on the theme of "women of a certain age" living life to the fullest & finding new purpose in maturity.
Both books are available for advance purchase at the store or online.
10% of book sales plus 10% of all sales on 4/17 will be donated to the
New Books for New Readers program of the Kentucky Humanities Council.

With wedding season just around the corner, it's not too early to be planning the gifts. Commemorate the day for the bride & groom with a personalized platter or stemware. Local artist Evelyn Abel paints on glass using permanent thermo-hardening pigments that are baked on for durability. Her glassware makes beautiful gifts, & can be further enhanced with names, dates or greetings custom painted on bases & borders. Patterns include Bird of Paradise (shown at left), Iris, Calla Lily, Fuchsia, & Dragonflies. They are equally appropriate for an anniversary, retirement or other special occasion. |

Now enjoy gentle chimes indoors using solar power instead of wind or batteries. Each design from Sunblossom Solar Chimes incorporates a miniature solar panel. This Window Sprite just requires positioning in a sunny window using the included suction cups. It's perfect for situations where outdoor chimes are not practical, like in an office, apartment or retirement home, or even in a child's room.
Many Feng Shui practitioners use chimes to enhance the energy level in a space, since sound & movement are powerful sources of increased flow. The tones of these solar chimes are light & happy, & you don't have to worry about unwanted sounds once the sun goes down. Made in the USA. |
