Difficult Times Require Prompt Action In The Wake Of Goderich Tornado
75% of local Chamber member businesses were destroyed following the devastating tornado that ripped through the Town of Goderich on August 21st.
Judy Crawford, C.E.O. of the Huron Chamber of Commerce has received well wishes and offers of assistance from Chambers throughout North America. "The destruction of the tornado is unbelievable. In the days to come we will all need to work together to rebuild our beautiful community. We are working very closely with the OPP and many ministries. If we ever wanted to know that our leaders believed in our Chamber, we now have our proof." For the time being the Chamber is located at the Goderich Memorial Arena at 180 McDonald Street in Goderich.
The GOCC is calling on its members to assist if they are able. A relief fund has been set up to help the business community recover. For more information on what is needed and how you can help, visit www.goderichtornado.com.
