The print schedule for the June 2011 edition of Business Matters was put on hold pending the strike decision by Canada Post. Now that a decision has been made to start rotating 24-hour strikes. beginning with Winnipeg, the newsletter will be printed on Monday, June 6 and delivered within the following 3 business days. We apologize for the delay, but felt that it was prudent to hold off printing until the Chamber could be certain Canada Post could fulfill their commitment to deliver Business Matters to all businesses registered with Canada Post throughout Oshawa and Clarington. If you want an advance copy, the June issue has been posted online for your convenience.

|Do You Have Your Head In The Sand? |
Do you have your head in the sand with respect to the AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act)? If you are ignoring the deadline, individuals risk fines of up to $50,000 (corporations up to $100,000)
for each day that the requirements have not been met!
It's interesting that many businesses haven't heard about the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the need to become compliant. Others have heard about it but seem to be ignoring it thinking it doesn't apply to them. Some know about it but don't know how to get started. People have a tendency to procrastinate on getting started early in order to meet the requirements for AODA legislation. Learn more
