Celebrating First Student Graded To Black Belt
Durham Shorin Ryu Karate celebrates its first student graded to black belt at a ceremony held on Saturday May 29, 2010. Although they have many black belts who came to the club already ranked, Christian Cowling is their first student to be graded to black belt in the club. The presentation was made by Sensei Eihachi Ota (karate master, ninth degree black belt and head of the Shorin Karate and Kobudo Association) and Dr. Adrian Robichaud (fourth degree black belt and owner of Robichaud Family Chiropractic and Durham Shorin Ryu Karate). Downtown Oshawa: An Academic Centre
100 UOIT banners
were installed in the downtown core just in time for the University's
convocation. Downtown Oshawa is fast establishing a reputation as a
centre for academic excellence with the development of the University
of Ontario Institute of Technology's (UOIT) downtown campus. The City
of Oshawa, Downtown Oshawa Business Improvement Area (DOBIA) and UOIT
partnered together to install banners along key corridors to mark the
Downtown Oshawa University District.
