The Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce in association with the Motor City Car Club presents Biz At Noon BBQ - AutoFest Media Launch. Join us for some great networking, view the collection of classic cars, meet the Argo's Cheerleaders and "Bubba", their 25 foot inflatable mascot and join the Argo challenge. The Toronto Argonaut's Football Club challenge you with their football toss for a chance to win great prizes.

The Toronto Argonaut's Football Club has offered the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce members a block of their best "silver" seats in section 129 and 130 at an upcoming Toronto Argo's home game on Friday, September 11, 2009 against the Hamilton Tiger Cats. The Chamber has chartered a bus to take us to the Rogers Centre and back after the game. Seating is limited so register today!

The Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce presents the14th Annual Business Excellence Awards at the Holiday Inn Oshawa Whitby Conference Centre on Thursday, September 24th, 2009. We are pleased to have Dianne Buckner as the MC of the event to honour this year's Business Excellence Awards recipients.

If you have upgraded to IE8 and are having display problems when viewing the Chamber website (or any website), please activate the "Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility View" by clicking on the Compatibility View icon (look for the "broken page" icon located to the left of the "refresh" button and to the right of the top row address bar). The Chamber site was displaying correctly in all browsers except IE8. We have now fixed this problem.
Ride 4 United Way
The United Way is looking for ambassadors to represent their company or organization in the ride. You don't have to be an avid cycler; there are distances to suit all levels of riders. It is anticipated that an ambassador would use their social network and hopefully get colleagues and friends to sponsor them in the event, aiming for a goal of $500 to $1000.

|Media Giant Appointed Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the Ontario Regiment
John Wright, the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Ipsos Ried's North American Public Opinion Polling Division has been appointed Honourary Lieutenant-Colonel of The Ontario Regiment (Royal Canadian Armoured Corps) which is based in Oshawa, Ontario. His role as an 'Honourary' will be to serve as a link between the community and the Canadian Forces.
Special Delivery: New MRI Arrives At Lakeridge Health Oshawa
Additional Magnetic Resonance Imager to begin treating patients in early September. Lakeridge Health and The Oshawa Hospital Foundation welcomed the arrival of an additional, new MRI at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. The purchase of the much-anticipated machine was made possible through The Oshawa Hospital Foundation's $4.85 million "A Picture of Health" fund-raising campaign and an Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care operating grant.
