"By the grace of God her prayers have been answered.  I am so thankful that there are still people in the world that give hope to those who have no hope left in their lives. You have just given her the greatest gift of all, the knowledge that people do love and care about her.  Thank you and thank our God above for everything you have given us."

Goodwill Easter Seals'

Medical Recycling Program
med equip recycling

The simple act of giving a wheelchair or other piece of medical equipment can make a tremendous impact.

Laurie C. Browning is just one of the more than1,500 people you helped last year by supporting our medical recycling program. On the left sidebar, we share with you the thank you sentiments her family sent because you made this possible.

With your donations last year, GES was able to purchase over $100,000 in supplies and medical equipment for people who do not have the resources to obtain them. There is no charge for the supplies or loaned equipment for as long as it is needed.

We are always accepting gently used medical equipment that we can refurbish and distribute to individuals in your community. Please contact Randy Henry at 251-300-6094 or  Randy@gesgc.org if you or someone you know is interested in our services or can help us continue our mission.

Day on the Hill

Day on the Hill
Frank Harkins, CEO/President, Bill Dillman and Lydia Gaudet represented GES at the Day on the Hill.

Easter Seals Alabama staff and volunteers visited Alabama legislators and Gov. Robert Bentley to advocate for people with disabilities in March.

The governor has proposed a 5% increase for the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services.

A partnership with ADRS helps fund our Early Intervention program and Workforce Development for people with disabilities.  The Legislature has not passed the budget yet.

Junior League volunteers' playground redesign
Caboose

JLM Thank you

Junior League of Mobile volunteers redesigned the GES Child Development Center playground at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church.

This play area is used by children ages 2½ to 5 with special needs. The children receive year-round programming and education in an inclusive pre-school setting.

Picnic tables and the playhouse received a fresh coat of paint. New swings, including high-backed swings, were added, as were a balance beam and ride-on toys.

The star feature of the playground is the multi-colored wooden train, consisting of an engine, two cars and a caboose, for the children to enjoy.
