Greetings!
With Labor Day gone, we are just a few weeks away from our biggest fundraiser of the year: Walk With Me! Have you signed up yet? This month, we'd like to introduce you to Kelly. She is 27 years old and has Down Syndrome. Her family has been very active in the community, Goodwill Easter Seals and other organization to spread the word about people with disabilties, or as Kelly's mom says, "different abilities."
To help those in our community like KELLY, please go online to walkwithme.org/mobile to donate to "Team Kelly," create your own team, become a business sponsor or participate as an individual walker. Walk With Me is a 1-mile symbolic walk for those living with disabilities. New this year is a 5k Fun Run to encourage more paricipants! Help any way you can!
BayBears Fundraiser Night at Hank Aaron Stadium raised almost $400 for Walk With Me! Staff, family members, board members and volunteers all came out to support our three Honorary Ambassadors: Kelly, Jessica and Madalyn, as they threw out the first pitch.
Listen to 91.3 WHIL, Saturday, September 18 to hear an interview with Kelly's mother, Kathy Killion, and Meagan Newsom as they talk about Walk With Me and other ways Goodwill Easter Seals is making a different in the community. MOBILE MATTERS at 2 p.m. Help Goodwill Easter Seals WIN $500,000! With the Sear's Reward Points Program, MORE adults and children in need of services from Goodwill Easter Seals can have access to medical assistance, education services, early intervention and even go to camp each summer!
Click on the box to the right, watch the video of our Springhill Child Development Center and click on VOTE! (You will have to reigster the first time, but not after that...and you can vote once a day until October 5!) Help us spread the word about our opportunity to win $500,000!
Goodwill Easter Seals is proud to announce that this year's TASTE OF MOBILE, in association with the Mobile Chapter, Restaurant Association, will now be the event organizer and beneficiary of the funds raised. Taste of Mobile is set for October 28 at the Convention Center. Please contact Frank Harkins or Meagan Newsom for more information: info@gesgc.org.
Become a sponsor for $1,000 to receive one VIP table and one regular table (each seats 10 people) and have your company's logo on the event banner. Contact Meagan today at 251.471.1581 or info@gesgc.org. Seating is limited.
