Grace Period Registration Ending for March Election

WAUKEGAN, Illinois - Lake County Clerk Willard Helander reminds voters that grace period registration for the March 20 Primary Election is available only at the County Clerk's office, 18 N. County St., Waukegan through close of business on Tuesday, March 13. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Registering under grace provisions allows county residents to register for the first time or update a new address in Lake County. New registrants must be U.S. citizens, residents of their precinct for 30 days before Election Day, 18 years old on or before the election, and are required to provide two forms of identification. Those who register under the grace period provision must vote at the time of registration.

Voter registration through deputy registrars across the county will re-open on March 22, two days after the General Primary Election in accordance with election law.
