Three Voting Options for March Election
WAUKEGAN, Illinois - Today Lake County Clerk Willard Helander reminds Lake County registered voters they have three convenient voting options for the March 20 General Primary Election. In addition to the going to the polls on the traditional Election Day, voters may vote early or by mail until Thursday, March 15.
Registered voters may vote early at a convenient location Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Early voters are required to present a current government-issued photo ID.
Illinois law requires voters choosing to vote by mail to complete an application for each election before receiving a ballot. For fast service, print the online application at LakeVoterPower.info, sign, date, and mail to Lake County Clerk, Rm. 101, 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. Voters may also request the application for ballot by emailing VotingByMail@lakecountyil.gov or calling 847.377.2406. Voted ballots must be returned to the Clerk's office with a postmark no later than March 19, the day prior to Election Day.
On Election Day, voting sites are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Visit LakeVoterPower.info to confirm your registration status, see your sample ballot, early voting or Election Day voting site, driving directions, and photos. Those choosing to vote by mail can use the "Track My Ballot" option to confirm their voted ballot has been received by the Clerk's office.
