Pollwatcher Credentials Now Available
WAUKEGAN, Illinois - Lake County Clerk Willard Helander announced today that qualified political organizations may request Pollwatcher Credentials for the March 20 General Primary Election at the County Clerk's office in Waukegan.
All pollwatchers are required to have credentials issued by the Lake County Clerk in order to observe at voting sites. Pollwatchers may represent candidates, established political parties, qualified civic organizations and organized proponents or opponents of ballot propositions. The Clerk's office will offer training on the rights and limitations of pollwatchers on Tuesday, March 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the County Administration Building, 18 N. County St., 10th Floor Assembly Room, Waukegan.
Requests for Pollwatcher Credentials and registration for the class can be sent via email to elections@lakecountyil.gov or by calling 847.377.2314. Candidates can visit LakeCandidatePower.info and download Pollwatcher Guide, a helpful brochure explaining the qualifications and responsibilities of a pollwatcher.
