 Pollwatcher Credentials Now Available

 

WAUKEGAN, Illinois - Lake County Clerk Willard Helander announced today that qualified political organizations may request Pollwatcher Credentials for the February 22, 2011 Consolidated Primary Election at the County Clerk's office in Waukegan. The February primary is open to registered voters living within the City of North Chicago Wards 2 and 4 and the City of Waukegan Wards 2, 3, 6, and 8. 

 

All pollwatchers are required to have credentials issued by the Lake County Clerk in order to observe at voting sites. Illinois election law permits pollwatchers to represent a candidate or an established political party. The Clerk's office will offer training on the rights and limitations of pollwatchers on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the County Administration Building, 18 N. County St., 10th Floor Assembly Room, Waukegan.

 

Requests for Pollwatcher Credentials and registration for the class can be sent via email to elections@lakecountyil.gov or by calling (847) 377-2314. Candidates can visit LakeCandidatePower.info and download Pollwatcher Guide, a helpful brochure explaining the qualifications and responsibilities of a pollwatcher.
