Three Voting Options for February Primary Election

WAUKEGAN, Illinois -Today Lake County Clerk Willard Helander reminded registered voters living in North Chicago Wards 2 and 4 and Waukegan Wards 2, 3, 6, and 8 they have three convenient voting options for the February 22 Consolidated Primary. In addition to the going to the polls on the traditional Election Day, voters may vote early in person through Thursday, Feb. 17 or vote by mail without a reason.

Ballots by mail can be requested for the February election only or by enrolling permanently for all future elections. The ballot by mail request form is available at VotingByMail.info or by calling (847) 377-2406.

Eligible voters may vote early at the Lake County Clerk's office, 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Early voters are required to present a current government-issued photo ID.

On Election Day, voting sites are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entering voter specific information at LakeVoterPower.info will link a voter to the Election Day location including address, picture and driving directions.

"Some aldermanic wards include only a small portion of registered voters in a precinct. To reduce Election Day costs, voters in these precincts will temporarily vote at another nearby site this primary only," Helander noted.

Prior to the February primary, each voter's household will receive a letter reminding them of the temporary change, All voters will return to their normal voting site for the April 5th Consolidated Election. To find more detailed information on these temporary voting site changes, view the video at LakeCountyClerk.info or call (847) 377-2314.
