Request Voting by Mail Ballot for February 22, 2011 Consolidated Primary

WAUKEGAN, Illinois -  County Clerk Willard Helander announced today that voters living within North Chicago Wards 2 and 4 and Waukegan Wards 2, 3, 6, and 8 may request a ballot by mail for their February 22 Consolidated Primary. To make your request, visit the Clerk's website at LakeVoterPower.info, send an email to VotingByMail@lakecountyil.gov or call (847) 377-2406. Last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Thursday, Feb. 17.

"Voting by mail is a convenient way to assure your voice is heard in each election--no matter how busy daily life becomes," said Helander.

Voters who have a primary election may make a one-time request for this primary or enroll in the Permanent Voting by Mail Program to include future elections as they may designate. Those choosing to vote by mail can visit LakeVoterPower.info and use the "Track My Ballot" option to confirm their voted ballot has been received by the Clerk's office.

Once enrolled in the permanent program, voters automatically receive a ballot for every election specified at the address they provide. Prior to each primary election, the voter's party preference is confirmed. Voters remain in the program until the Clerk's office receives notification from the voter to be removed or the voter becomes inactive.

February Primary ballots will be mailed beginning Thursday, Jan. 13 and voted ballots must be returned to the Clerk's office with a postmark no later than Feb. 21, the day prior to Election Day.
