The five new townhome clustered along Maple Street provide much needed additional housing for the College's growing enrollment, now exceeding 1,000 students. "YHC is carrying a lot of momentum right now, and prospective student interest has really skyrocketed as we've come into our own as a four-year college," said Vice President for Enrollment Clint Hobbs. "Our decision to move forward with completing the second phase of The Village was based in part on our accelerated enrollment projections that have exceeded all expectations."

Competitive Cheerleading Program Kicks Off at YHC

Young Harris College welcomed 25 cheerleaders to campus in July to begin practices in advance of the Mountain Lions inaugural competitive cheerleading season. The squad recently traveled to Myrtle Beach, S.C., Aug. 10-12, for the National Cheerleaders Association Summer Camp. "I am very impressed with the level of talent we have this year," said Competitive Cheerleading Head Coach Chase Carter. "This is our first year, and on the national scale we have not earned anything yet; however, we intend to change that."
