Dear Alumni,
In 2013, my class will celebrate 20 years since we graduated from Young Harris College, but in some ways it only feels like a few months. I think we were all changed for the better during our time in the mountains. I know I was. After leaving YHC, I studied computers and business. I soon found myself in the middle of the Internet revolution. I have worked with an online advertising agency, founded a couple of start-ups, and managed websites and developed digital strategies for global corporations. I have even been lucky enough to develop an old hobby, and recently published my first novel titled "Young Men Shall See."
A few years after I left Young Harris, I met a beautiful and talented girl named Rhonda, and we got married in 2000. Our life together has been full of adventure, but none as interesting as parenthood-something that has given us true joy in exchange for sleep. We now have two little boys who are beautiful, talented and intelligent. They take after their mother.
A year ago, I read a publication from Young Harris that included the 2011 Commencement address from former U.S. Senator and Georgia Governor Zell Miller, '51, where he said, "YHC, IOU." When I read his words I thought, "Yes, I do owe Young Harris." Our College set me on the path that would forever change my life.

Members of Class of 1971 "Fab7" Reunite

The "Fab7" girls of the Class of 1971 recently met for a reunion in Savannah, April 9-12. The group includes (left to right) Kathi Wheeler Tagliarini, Arlynne Robinson Striplin, Nancy Stovall White, Susie Stewart Fritts, Sally Shuman Jordan, Angie Marshall Garrard and Lisea Linder Robbins. "We had a wonderful time roaming the Savannah shops and squares, but most of all we just enjoyed girl time, chatting on the porch of a beautiful home we reserved in the restored district of Savannah," said Fritts. Given the nickname "Fab 7" by O.V. Lewis, the group has met nearly 15 times since graduating from YHC. They are already planning their next gathering.
