FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TreeUtah Fall Harvest Festival and Debutof Carrie the Cottonwood!
SALT LAKE CITY, UT - TreeUtah will be celebrating the fall season with a public Harvest Festival at our Community Orchard and EcoGarden located next to the Day-Riverside Library in Rose Park on Oct. 22 from 2 - 6 p.m. The festival open to the public and admission is free.
The Fall Harvest Festival will be a day filled with fun games and activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a scavenger hunt in the garden, pumpkin painting, a pie-eating contest, three legged races, and face painting. There will be great prizes, delicious food from Chow Truck (who have generously agreed to donate a portion of their proceeds from the day to TreeUtah), and live music by the Bueno Avenue String Band and members of Big Mirror. There will also be a number of local arts and crafts vendors.
The Fall Harvest Festival will also mark the debut of TreeUtah and Salt Lake County's new tree mascot, Carrie the Cottonwood, who will be available for photo opportunities.
"We are so excited for the Fall Harvest Festival," says Amy Collins, the executive director of TreeUtah. "It's a great opportunity for families to come out and enjoy an old-fashioned community festival. We invite all of our neighbors and the many people who have volunteered throughout the year with TreeUtah to help us celebrate the harvest season together."
She added, "We're also looking forward to introducing TreeUtah's and Salt Lake County's tree mascot Carrie the Cottonwood for the first time. People will have the opportunity to take their photo with Carrie - she is over 8 feet tall!"
