Greetings!

We had a wonderful summer full of sunshine, gardening, outdoor adventure, and tree care. The transition to fall is looking positive with the preparation for the busy planting and harvesting season. We are happy to announce the new Executive Director Amy Collins and welcome her to our great team.

Amy Collins Welcome to the Team
TreeUtah's New Executive Director

TreeUtah is pleased to announce that Amy Collins has accepted the position of Executive Director. Amy is energetic and bursting with wonderful ideas, which are sure to make TreeUtah shine. We are thrilled to have such a great person join the team.

When asked how she is feeling about her new position Amy could only express excitement and gratitude.

We wish Jeff Ward, our former executive director the best of luck at his new position with the U.S. Forest Service. Thank you Jeff for your all your hard work over the years.

Last week TreeUtah officially started sending out tweets at the Jack Johnson Concert. The concert was a huge success and TreeUtah got to meet with the star himself.

Boy Scouts Plan to Plant Big
Million Trees and TreeUtah event

In celebration of 100 years of Scouting, a group of 200 Boy Scouts are taking part in a large scale tree planting. On September 8th, the dedicated group of Boy Scouts plan to plant 1,250 native trees at the Sandy City Amphitheater. This event is being hosted by Mayor Corroon's One Million Trees for One Million People initiative.

TreeUtah is going to be running tree planting workshops with all the Scouts and parents. Mayor Peter Corroon and Mayor Ralph Becker will both be in attendance at this great planting event.

If you have planted a tree in the last 3 years make sure it's counted toward the million!-
