Spring has arrived and tree planting season is in full swing! There are some wonderful opportunities to volunteer and get involved. We hope to see you at our fun and exciting events being held at the Redwood Natural Area, Jordan River Ecological Restoration site and the EcoGarden.

Trees for Eagles

TreeUtah's Trees for Eagles/Edible Forest Grove is a new environmental education site and program. One goal of this program is to teach why native tree plantings help restore vital eagle and wildlife habitat in the riparian zone along the Jordan River. Supreet Gill is working with children and adults in West Valley to emphasize the importance of trees in our living environment.

Here are some upcoming events for T4E @ the Redwood Natural Area(3100 South, between the Jordan River and Redwood Road)
        • May 1st, 9am T4E Grove Launch- Planting the grove
        • May 11th, 7pm Songbirds, Trees and Songs- Interpretive walk with TreeUtah's Senior Forester Hob Calhoun

EcoGarden Events
  • Starting May 13th and continuing every Thursday evening @ 6pm, Garden Gathering come and get your questions about Permaculture answered
  • May 5th, Fern Gully film viewing @ 7pm, enjoy this classic environmental tale of a threatened rainforest saved by its magical inhabitants

AAA Utah Battery Roundup to Support TreeUtah
 

"In Utah, batteries can be dropped off at Jardine Services at 2646 South 300 West in Salt Lake City, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Members and the public are encouraged to bring any number of old vehicle or marine batteries for recycling during business hours. AAA Utah will donte $2 per battery to TreeUtah. For more information about AAA's Battery Roundup visit www.aaa.com/batteryroundup." -AAA Utah News Release
 

This is a great way to clean up your garage or storage space, remove hazadous batteries from the environment, and support TreeUtah all at the same time!
