The ARTreach Programs

 

ARTreach is working to bring the arts to underserved populations. Funding is available from the Texas Commission on the Arts to bring ARTreach Programs to schools and social service agencies in need. Please apply for program support now for ARTreach  Mentoring through Art programs serving children in the school districts, and/or youth at risk in residential treatment and juvenile detention centers. 

 

ARTbeat! educational and enrichment programs serving seniors, elderly and individuals with Alzheimer's and other patients in recovery and Within My Reach programs serving children and adults with special needs are also available with funding support provided by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

 

Mamie ARTreach at Mamie George

ARTreach presents - ARTbeat! at The Mamie George Senior Center in Richmond, Texas  Mamie George senior citizens will be inspired this month by the French Impressionists- Resident artist Kelly Dillard and Karen Eisele will introduce the masters; Monet, Van Gogh, Gaugain, Cezanne, Renoir, Seurat in a City ARTworks series that explores watercolor, clay, pastels, printmaking and resist methods to create note cards and original canvas works of art. Visitors to the center can come every week, make new friends, create art and connect to their community. Find great ARTreach artists and volunteers every Thursday from 10:00-11:30 AM at the Mamie George Senior Center in Richmond.

ARTreach presents

Mentoring through Art- A Great Mural and Collaboration!

Unique ARTreach Mural project directed by ARTreach Elizabeth Linder and Carolina Dalmas, with librarian Melanie Poncik and the students of Cardiff Junior High SchoolWatch this mural unfold to tell the history and the future represented by books in the Cardiff Library. The mural will border the library- the concept and design is the student ideas with mural painting techniques shared by professional artists to create a legacy work of art that will benefit the entire school for years to come. Cardiff received funding from the Texas Commission on the Arts with additional support for this unique ARTreach project provided by the Cardiff PTA.

Mentoring and Art is "Making it Better"

ARTreach Presents - Artist Danny Russo and Joseph Dixon to students in HISDMade possible in part by a grant from Texas Commission on the Arts, Making it Better and assistance provided by Young Audiences of Houston. ARTreach is bringing Young Audience's Screen Printing Artist, Danny Russo to Shadowbriar Elementary and Joseph Dixon, professional artist and drummer of D-Young Artists Ensemble to Frost Elementary. Students benefitting are enrolled in the Making it Better after school program.

 KVPAC Nasty Gnarlies

ARTreach presents

Three Nasty Gnarlies by Keith Graves at Shadowbriar and Frost Elementary schools in Houston ISD. This is a Books Alive musical theater adaption by Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center. Made possible by ARTreach and Making it Better, with Young Audiences of Houston and KVPAC support. Students from two HISD title one schools benefitted from seeing this special play that places a strong emphasis on recycling and preserving the beauty of the earth.  Everyone learned that true beauty comes from how we treat other and the world around us.

Inner City All Stars 

The Texas Music Project in Katy

Katy came out for Arts in January to find great music in the air at the opening of the NEW V.I.P. Room at Villagio Town Center. Art supporters and VIPS were treated to an evening of jazz that is unique to the Inner City All Stars from Dallas - on tour in Katy for an ARTreach presentation at the Brookwood Community in Brookshire Texas, followed by an evening event in Katy at the Villagio Town Center and the new V.I.P. This presentation was made possible by Community ARTreach Partners and a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts.

 Sara Hickman

Come out for the Arts! Next up is Sara Hickman from Austin - playing Live at Villagio V.I.P. on February 18th. Sara Hickman is the Texas Artist of the Year and her performance at the V.I.P. promises to be a sell out. Purchase tickets online now to reserve V.I.P. Limited seating. ARTreach Institute

An Artist and Volunteer Training Program

Workshops are scheduled monthly at the V Gallery at Villagio. ARTreach is training new artists and volunteers to work in the field of social service. Art students are invited to register for free public workshops to practice new methods and techniques with the artists in training. Artists are developing new programs and practicing best teaching methods to help students be successful.

 Gallery Night

ARTreach Gallery Night 

ARTreach Volunteers and Community Artists open the Gallery at Villagio the 3rd Friday of each month. ARTreach is featuring a collection of original art work created in our outreach programs and a current photographers exhibition of work by the Katy Photography Meet Up.  Find Art Volunteers offering free art and music activities to encourage families and children to participate in the arts. Music jams and poetry by young artists, friends of ARTreach and our fine art students in Katy. 6-8 PM

What does Art and Culture mean to you?

Join ARTreach the Katy Cultural Planning and Events Committee and help bring the arts to Katy. Find Katy's Cultural Arts District growing in the Cinco Ranch neighborhood spanning Villagio Town Center located at Peek Road and Westheimer Parkway to Mason Road and the Equestrian Center.
