 Greetings!

"The No More Bullying Rap Song" on the CD, "Celebrate!" speaks of bullying in relationship to self-belief and self-respect:  "The nicer you are to yourself, the less you'll pick on someone else, and nobody can take away your hopes and your dreams, keep them alive, as hard as it seems. You might have money or you might be broke, but we're all the same with a thing called HOPE. Hopes are the dreams alive in your mind, discover all you can be, That's a treasure only YOU have the power to find!"

The greatest gift we can give children is to self-believe, and the most important affirmation we can provide is that they can handle all dimensions of living life.  "The Little Engine that Could" must be within every child's spirit--no matter what someone says, judges, does, labels.  Integrating a positive inner attitude through specific words-mottos-stories-songs-affirmations--all reinforce a deep self-respect.  A child that feels good about themselves will not bully, tease, gossip or judge another most of the time.  Someone who feels badly about themselves will torment others in order to make themselves feel elevated.  A child that feels good about themselves will have the courage and strength-the self-belief- to stand up for a peer and to a peer, and they will have the ability to determine if the problem is so out of hand that an adult must step into it.  Self-belief is a value that runs through every song and story I share in my concerts, and I'd love to reinforce your work with children by coming to your area with my philosophy, creative approaches and experience.

Testimonial

"Thank you for stimulating my children's imaginations and for teaching me so much. We all had a wonderful morning. I just keep wondering why I hadn't discovered you before! Your genuine love of children and your craft just glowed during the entire program. You have exactly the type of program I look for-not a performance, but total participation. Don't lose those directions to Dracut. I'll be asking for repeat visits. I shall pass the word to my fellow librarians. You are a treasure!"  -- Library Director

MY FAVORITE TEACHING TIPS,
SONGS, SITES AND BOOKS

FAVORITE AFFIRMATION for Kids and Adults:
"Whatever happens, I'll handle it!" -- This is a great affirmation to teach children too. Dr. Susan Jeffers expands the deeper and wider meaning:   "Within me, I have the power to handle anything that ever happens to me. I will learn from it all, grow from it all, and use it all as a means to reaching the best of who I am. Every situation in my life offers me the opportunity to become a more powerful and loving human being. I have nothing to fear. I will always find the strength within me to find my way...and to find the good that ultimately comes from all that happens in my life. Yes, whatever happens, I'll handle it!"

SONG:

Favorite Song by Cheryl Melody for Self-Belief:  "Shake Your Own Hand" (AKA "I'm an Amazing Person Today"  AKA "The Friendship Song" on CDs, "Celebrate," "Songs that Make the Heart Feel Good" and "Let's Pretend and More")  This song is filled with situations that children (and adults) deal with--words that hurt feelings, actions that are invasive, feelings of fear, shyness...and how to be YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND through it all!)

BOOK:
Parents Do Make a Difference by Dr. Michele Borba  (This is another outstanding book by Dr. Borba, with many solid strategies, stories and points to remember; stands out from many other parenting-teaching books on raising children who believe in themselves solidly)
