Grant, O merciful God, that your Church, being gathered together in unity by your Holy Spirit, may show forth your power among all peoples, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Dear Friends,
(AGAIN... There is a lot in this update, please scroll around to see it all) It was great fun to be home and to worship with the Incarnation family. I have to confess - I don't know if you are enjoying it but I am having way too much fun in preaching! (You can hear Sundays Sermon Click Here) Some folks asked me a bout the song that was in the sermon and was our offertory. It is by Paul Clark from a project called Hand to the Plow and the song title is Now and Forevermore. It is on iTunes if you want to pick it up.
Our fellowship lunch was wonderful as we began to talk about all the opportunities ahead of us beginning in a few weeks) We will launch our fall programming on September 9th and we will return to two services Our Sunday morning schedule will be... 8am - Holy Communion Rite II 9am - Christian Formation Classes / Adult and Youth Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Levels 1-3 10:15am - Holy Communion Rite II
You can download a PDF of all our Fall offerings - Click Here You can also download a PDF of all of Canterbury's Fall offerings too - Click Here
The Youth Group will be going to ROCK THE UNIVERSE at Universal Studios (Click Here) If you want to go or if you would like to help chaperone - send me an email... jon@incarnationoviedo.com
I shared briefly in the announcements that we have had some unforeseen expenses mainly relating to the Mission House (maintenance on the water system) and we are currently running a deficit in our budget of $6000.00 or so. I said I would not ask you for money but I would ask you to pray (I joked that God might ask you to give some money) Summers can be tough on church income, folks traveling and such some giving can turn downward during this season. So I ask you to pray for the church and our finances. If you want more information you can contact me, our Senior Warden, Tommy Hagood or our Treasurer, Greg Seavers.
I hope you will engage, connect, plug-in and serve the Lord...
in the mission,
Fr. Jon+ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
A personal testimony...
August 25th marked the second anniversary of my reaching a weight loss goal. I have maintained a healthy weight for 2 years now having lost 170 pounds from July 2009 - August of 2010. I share this not to brag but as a person who was morbidly obese my whole life I was introduced to a program that changed my life and relationship with food. It has now become a lifestyle. I was a full blown type II diabetic on blood pressure medicine and more. I am now off all the medication! If you are interested you can read more on our website on my personal page (click here and on the page scroll down a bit) Feel free to contact me personally if you want to discuss it further. Below if a Before and After picture - The left is November 20, 2004 and the right was August 1, 2012.
