The Collect for Pentecost Sunday
Almighty God, on this day you opened the way of eternal life to every race and nation by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit: Shed abroad this gift throughout the world by the preaching of the Gospel, that it may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Dear Friends,

What a powerful, remarkable and glorious PENTECOST SUNDAY.   The music was joyful and fun!   You can give a listen to the sermon and some of the music (Click Here - it may take a little bit to load as there is a lot on this page)

The Memorial Weekend Picnic was fabulous - So many worked so hard from the kitchen crew serving BBQ that makes this Georgia Boy blush with pride, to those who baked goods for the bake sale, to those who orchestrated the Memorial Walk stations, to the flag pole dedication and wreath laying, to Line Creek Bluegrass entertaining until the sun went down, Insight Credit Union's generosity and support, Oviedo Fire Department, Seminole County Sheriff's Department, US Representative Sandy Adams lending her support and presence.  (More pictures to come but a few below)

I shared the following in my sermon...
William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, was asked in 1901 what's the greatest danger of that era. He said: I consider the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost; Christianity without Christ; forgiveness without repentance; salvation without regeneration; politics without God; and Heaven without Hell."

Sadly, I have seen the church in our day be all these things.  May we instead be a church empowered by the Holy Ghost; anchored in and focused on Christ Jesus;  repentant and forgiven (in that order); saved and sanctified - transformed; a nation under Almighty God; seeing people rescued from Hell and their names added to the Book of Life!

in the mission,
