Collect for the Holy Week
A
lmighty and everliving God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Holy Week April 1-8, 2012
cross 2012
Dear Friends,

We enter a full week and I hope you will join us as we journey to the cross and on to joyous resurrection through the varied moments of prayers, services, contemplation and more.  Our hope is fixed ultimately upon one thing: Jesus was raised from the dead!  Yes there is a distress, betrayal, suffering, brutality, and a cross; but on the other side is life and joy.   I was taught early on by my priest in my home church growing up, a good Lent, an engagement with Holy Week services makes for a great Easter. For us to embrace and to begin to grasp and comprehend the Easter hope and victory we need to enter these solemn spaces that our liturgy this week will create.  A full list of Holy Week services is in the left column.  Invite your friends, family, neighbors, strangers especially in this week to join us...

Opportunities coming in Easter Season...

THE BOOK OF ACTS with Scott Berg
Please join us Sunday mornings beginning April 15th at 10:00am in the Living Room.  Scott and his wife, Cheryl, joined Incarnation  last year and have been involved with one of our home groups. They have spent time on the mission field and Scott received his Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary.  Here is a word from Scott...
I'm so excited about this upcoming class on Acts!  I've thoroughly enjoyed preparing for these teaching sessions and I believe those who attend will be encouraged and edified.  We will be looking at Acts both diachronically (behind the text: historical background, authorship, date, etc.) and synchronically (in front of the text: what it means for us today, how it relates to the whole of Scripture).  The latter will also include exploring the many theological themes in Acts that have spiritual implications for our lives.  Looking forward to seeing you there!  ~ Scott Berg
