Dear Friends,We continue our Lenten Journey into a busy week as we prepare to host a retirement party for Bishop Howe on Saturday March 17. Volunteers are needed and you can contact Susan Gregory to pitch in. tsgregory@sbeo.net On Sunday we will not have Christian Formation classes as the congregation is invited and encouraged to attend the Rotary Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at Canterbury. Cost is $5.00 per person (children 3 and under free)
I want to thank all who have joined us for Wednesday Lenten Prayer Meetings. I am finding this to be a special time of fellowship and more so going deeper in our faith, mission and calling. It is adding greatly to my experience of Christ Jesus His Kingdom.
Notice the Holy Week Schedule in the left column. It will be a special week with meaningful moments of celebration and contemplation beginning with Palm Sunday on April 1, A Seder Supper on April 3 / Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday Services and Easter celebrations beginning with Great Vigil on Saturday night and Easter Day services and an Easter Egg Hunt.
As we approach these momentous days I am reminded of a quote by John Stott, We live and die. Christ died and lived! As we contemplate the mighty acts of redemption may we do so with hope of eternal life.
