Dear Friends,We continue our Lenten journey exploring the wonders of God's compassion, forgiveness and mercy. I commented in my sermon on Sunday (click here) about a prayer from the intercessions in The Celebration of a Marriage from the Book of Common Prayer - praying for the new couple. I think it makes for a good prayer in Lent... Give them grace, when they hurt each other, to recognize and acknowledge their fault, and to seek each other's forgiveness and yours. Amen.
I think it could very well be a prayer for anyone who is in covenant relationship: for a vestry; a congregation; a family; adapted here...
Give us grace, when we hurt each other, to recognize and acknowledge our fault, and to seek each other's forgiveness and yours, Almighty God Amen.
May God strengthen the bonds or our affection and may we all grow in the knowledge and love of the Lord day by day.
in the mission,
Fr. Jon+

My good friend and "Cabin Guy" Carl Imes visited with us on Sunday with his family. He is a gifted musician and I am grateful for his life long friendship. He "sat in" with praise team and will be returning Memorial Day weekend for a picnic and Sunday worship on Pentecost Sunday with some friends who form a "cooking" bluegrass band.
