Dear Friends,
We have entered the season of Lent and done so with great energy. We had a blessed first Sunday in Lent with a dynamic class taught by David Teems. (don't miss next weeks offering) Sunday's worship was rich and full. Bishop Howe was on the Canterbury campus on Friday and Saturday with a profound retreat on the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. It was a great time of teaching, worship, fellowship and I know many walked away renewed.
We continue our lenten journey Monday-Friday with the Daily Office (Morning Prayer) offered at 8:15am in the Saint Francis Oratory Chapel in the main building at Canterbury. This Wednesday we begin a family prayer meeting (see below) as a time to draw near to the Lord and listen. I pray that as we pray and study, listen and learn we will grow in our knowledge and love for Christ Jesus and understand more clearly our specific calling as a church. Lent is a time to reflect. We look at our lives and how we are living. May God give us a clearer image day by day in this earthly pilgrimage.
in the mission,
Father Jon+
