Stewardship focus continues...

As we consider how we manage our lives and doing so with the Kingdom of God in mind I cannot help but think of how I steward relationships in my life.  I am returning from the 30th year of "cabin trips" with dear college friends.  We take a weekend every year and have done so since 1982.  This is where we gather, cut-up, play cards, pray sing and enjoy each our friendships.  Here is the group shot from this year...

This is a very rich ritual in my life and I am grateful for the legacy that it is.   When I tell people about the "Cabin Guys" they are amazed and envious. We have had to practice a stewardship in this effort.  An intentional management of our relationships and time to make this happen.  We did not hit 30 years of this by chance, it took effort, planning and commitment - a good picture of tools needed for effective and fruitful stewardship.  What relationships in your life need "stewardship"  

We have been talking about Stewardship as a lifestyle, a day by day discipline we are called to do.  You can CLICK HERE for a pledge card I updated it and you can download it from the website.  Or you can use one you picked up at church and write on the back. Regardless which card you use I as you to consider stewardship in a more comprehensive manner.  How can you give?  What talents and resources can you offer?  How can you submit your whole life to the Lord?  Yes there a place to make a financial pledge and that is needed as well.  So talk about with your family about what are you going to give in time, talent, treasure, money, energy, resources for the sake of advancing the Kingdom of God this year. Pray and make a commitment.  I ask you to write it down and bring it this Sunday for a special time of offering in our services on November 13th.
