Dear Friends, 

This week we launch HOME GROUPS in four areas of the community (and maybe a fifth coming soon).  I am reminded of this account in the book of Acts

"And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.  And everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together, and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions, and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved."   (Acts 2:42-47)  

Specifically consider the early church met in the temple and house to house.  We have been meeting on Sundays and for other services as a congregation - we might consider that the temple.  Now we begin "house to house".  I commend to you my sermon from Sunday which looked at the "fellowship" we share in Christ.  If we are to grow and be fueled in the mission of the Kingdom then we must be bound to each other, connected and growing in our love for God and each other.   We take this model of ministry from the very beginning of the church and put into practice at Incarnation.  I pray it will bear fruit for Jesus and that we will be adding to our day by day those who are being saved.   Look below my signature for details.
