Dear Friends,
As we ponder our relationship with Christ - I found this quote worth contemplating this week without need for further comment...
"Christ is the very essence of all delights and pleasures, the very soul and substance of them. As all the rivers are gathered into the ocean, which is congregation or meeting-place of all waters in the world: so Christ is that ocean in which all true delights and pleasures meet. His excellencies are pure and unmixed; he is a sea of sweetness without one drop of gall."
~ John Flavel
This week Canterbury will host a Healing Conference with The Rev. Sharon Lewis (click here for her ministry's website). In this sin scarred, broken world God has chosen the church - His people to be a means of healing and wholeness, to mediate his power and presence to those who are wounded in body, soul, mind and spirit. I invite you to join us in the journey as we explore the ministry of healing which is ours by God's choice and grace. Call the Canterbury office this week to register for more information CLICK HERE.
On August 26, we have a Men's Dinner at Canterbury 7-9pm. Cost is $12.00 per person. We welcome Alan Gooch former UCF Football Coach as our guest speaker - join us for a time a fellowship and fun. To make a reservation contact Sue Grosso at Canterbury 407-365-5571 or sue@canterburyretreat.org
On Saturday August 27 / 8am-12noon we will have a work-day planting a hedge of bamboo to help in creating a border between Canterbury and expected development (see below) So roll up your sleeves and join us in some "strenuous and sweaty fellowship" as we protect and beautify the gift Canterbury is!
Be sure to check the column on the left for more things coming up on our calendar.
May you have a blessed week in the Lord!
