Collect for the Sixth Sunday in Easter

O God, you have prepared for those who love you such good things as surpass our understanding: Pour into our hearts such love towards you, that we, loving you in all things and above all things, may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Dear Friends,

I left the "hermitage" today after a week of prayer, reflection, writing, study and more.
It was a rich time and so necessary for me to be the priest and pastor God wants me to be.   It reminds me of my need for and utter dependance upon the Lord for all I am and do.  I commend this to all of you and though you may not be in a position to take a week like this I encourage you to cultivate your faith and love for Christ day by day. You may want to go to the Hermitage at Valle Crucis- you can read about this "sacred space" (Click Here)

That being said I am eager to be home with family and friends and after a stop in Atlanta I will be in the "saddle" of Incarnation and Canterbury on Thursday.

A Few Things...

JUNE 12th PENTECOST SUNDAY!

A special day in the life of the church where we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and empowering for ministry.  Several things to note this year...
     We will move to a summer worship schedule of
           ONE SERVICE AT 10:00AM
      This comes after some discussion at vestry and  it seems right for 2 reasons in particular. First after the first year of two services we get a chance to "be together" and secondly the thought is that we will not have this opportunity if we continue to grow. (this may be the last summer we are able to do this)

It is traditional to wear RED on Pentecost Sunday

June 12th we will also celebrate Gary Jackson's ordination to the transitional diaconate. The Rev. Chuck Reischman (an old friend of mine) will be our guest preacher.

We will also have a PENTECOST PICNIC after the service and the folks from Waterstone Fellowship (the church plant that rents the Mission House from us) will join us.  More details soon but this will be a covered dish picnic of some sort - so stand by.  It will be a time to enjoy the canoes and paddle-boat; family fun, some games and surprises.  So MARK YOUR CALENDAR for this special day of worship, celebration and fellowship!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

June 5th is the last Sunday of Christian Formation classes, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd until the Fall.  Daily Morning Prayer and Organic Discipleship

is on summer break as well. We will restart these in Fall as well.

Thanks to all who came to the Fiesta fundraiser and those who have supported Abigail's mission trip to Panama! If you would still like to donate in the next week, contact Abigail or Pastor Robin.
