Collect for the Second Sunday in Easter

Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ's Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Dear Friends,

We had a glorious Sunday at Incarnation, There were several chapel improvements including lighting, audio visual enhancements and better layout and design of our space. Abigail Morical gave a wonderful eyewitness account sharing her testimony of faith of how she has seen Jesus in her life and her calling to a short term mission in Panama this summer. Jose Rodriguez, an aspirant for Holy Orders preached an excellent sermon - (click here to listen

We continue on a couple of fronts in protecting and securing the Canterbury property. (see below for details in how you can get involved).

Allen Levi will be here this weekend offering a concert on Saturday evening (see announcement and link in the left column) Allen will also be sharing in our Sunday services.   Here is a link to a YOU TUBE clip of Allen - Click Here.   So bring your friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers to this fun evening of music and laughter.

We wake this morning to news that Usama Bin Laden has been killed during a raid by American soldiers in Pakistan.   May God bless and protect those who serve in our armed forces and may we all be thankful for the sacrifices they make. While I am glad that this terrorist and mass murderer was brought to justice I cannot help but remember Jesus' words to "pray for our enemies".  I long for the day when the Prince of Peace will reign in all the earth and we will see the Kingdom of God, a Kingdom of love, joy, peace and righteousness established in all the world.

in the mission,
Father Jon+

A few things...

We are establishing a BAMBOO FUND at Canterbury and you can contribute to this - The kind of bamboo we are buying is no spreading and grows up to 60 feet tall with stalks that are 3 inches thick.  We will be using this to build a visual barrier on the Cantebruy property bordering Alafaya Trail  and where they are proposing to put in a RACETRAC gas station.   If you would like to contribute teh cost per plant is $25.00 and you can make checks payable to Canterbury and mark them for BAMBOO.

Additionally concerning the proposed RaceTrac gas station Canterbury board and the vestry at Incarnation are working together to oppose this development.
Click here for a strategy letter from Charlie Pierce, Chairman of the Canterbury Board and Jeff Woodside our Senior Warden.
