Collect for
        Easter Sunday

O God, who for our redemption gave your only-begotten Son to the death of the cross, and by his glorious resurrection delivered us from the power of our enemy: Grant us so to die daily to sin, that we may evermore live with him in the joy of his resurrection; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Dear Friends,

We rejoice and are renewed in Easter light and life!  May this week find us basking in the redemption won for us by Jesus in His victory over death.  We enter a season of joy with proclamation of the Good News that Jesus has triumphed and bestowed upon us "so great a salvation!"

In the First Epistle of John we find this at the very beginning of this letter...

"What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of Life - and the life was manifested, and we have seen and bear witness and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us - what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write, so that our joy may be made complete."

(1John 1:1-4)

This is a call to all of to proclaim what we have experienced and know of Christ.  The readings throughout Easter will give witness to post resurrection appearances of Jesus.   Though they may not be as tactile or visual, Jesus still shows himself in this world and reveals His life giving presence in us and through us.  In this season of Easter in place of one of the readings we will offer eye-witness accounts as to how we have seen Jesus in our lives.  If you would like to share a 2-3 minute "witness" on a Sunday morning please contact me (jon@incarnationoviedo.com) and I can give more details.
