Incarnation / Canterbury Work Day / Saturday April 9th /  8am - 12noon

We will gather at the Mission House Property on Highway 419 to empty out the Storage container - tossing out what is not worth keeping, passing on what we do not need and taking the "treasures" over to Canterbury. This ready us to move the container to the Canterbury property.   If time and number of folks allow we will take on a few projects in the Canterbury Campus as well.  To be a part of the work day let Tommy Hagood our Junior Warden know you can help.   You can email him at...  thagood@huntonbrady.com  Join in the fun, roll up your sleeves, enjoy the fellowship and move Incarnation and Canterbury forward for the sake of the Kingdom!

                           The Good Shepherd

Dear Friends,

I preached on Sunday on the 23rd Psalm.   It is comforting to know that the Lord is a Shepherd to us, caring for us, providing, leading, comforting and nurturing us in this earthly pilgrimage.  This image was dominant in the early church and in understanding a "visual theology" in many ways a starting point.

I think it is a good starting point for us theologically. It stresses the provision and compassion of the Lord while speaking to us of our need and dependence.  We do not like to admit we have needs.  Our rugged individualism, supposed self determination and independence stands opposed to this sort of confessed weakness.

If we are honest, though we hate to admit it we need a Shepherd, someone to lead us, feed us, refresh us, heal our wounds and tend to our lives. Not only is the Lord my Shepherd but Jesus is the Good Shepherd and He lays down His life for the sheep.  In his death we find life, in the darkness of this world He is Light, when we are lost He is the way, in the lies of this world He is truth.  He binds up the brokenhearted and sets captives free.

I bid you this week to consider the Lord as your Shepherd.  To turn to Him with your life and submit to His care.  It will make for a better week and a better life when you do.

A Few Things...

From The Bishop Search Committee...

We would like your views about your parishes and the Diocese of Central Florida at this time, as well as what characteristics you desire in our next Bishop.  You are invited and urged to give your opinions by completing the on-line survey. Please ask your vestry, lay delegates and the general congregation to complete a survey as well.

To access the survey, go to the Diocesan Survey link on Bishop Search page of the CF Diocese website at http://bishopsearch.cfdiocese.org/diocesan-survey  and click on the appropriate survey title.

If you have questions about the survey please send an e-mail to BishopSearchSurvey@gmail.com  and we will be happy to help you.

Pray the election of the next bishop to be held at a special convention on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011
A Prayer to Guide our Search

Be with us and guide us, Holy Spirit of God, as we seek your will for the future of our Diocese.  Help us to discern the needs and hopes of your people in Central Florida, so that our search for a Bishop may proceed with clear vision and joyful obedience. We pray through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen.
