Our good friend David Teems will be joining us for the retreat and will be sharing in our services on Sunday.  In addition to David's profound ministry of music this past year he has authored two books. A Few Things...   

An Opportunity and Invitation...

As most of you know I have been on a journey since July of 2009 that has brought me to greater health with a total weight loss of 170 pounds. In this journey I have ceased taking all Type II Diabetes medication (I was on the "max" and the next step was insulin) I am still a Type II Diabetic but now completely diet controlled - it has been completely reversed.  My total cholesterol runs between 100-120) My blood pressure runs between (100-110 / 60-70) My doctor is amazed and has directed many of his other patients to the program I employed.  I hit my goal in August of 2010 and have maintained my weight loss for the past 7 months.  I hope this does not sound like bragging - I am as amazed as anyone. 

 

Many of you have asked, "What did you do?"   I did a program called TAKE SHAPE FOR LIFE and had a wonderful Health Coach in Judith McCarthy.  (Here is a link to her webpage)  For full disclosure I want you to know I receive no compensation by this endorsement. Dr. Wayne Anderson who crafted and designed the program will be in the Orlando area.

There are lots of paths to health and physical wholeness after being obese my whole life I walked this one and it worked.   Whether you need to lose 20 or 50 or 100+ pounds to get to a healthy weight,  I can testify that this path was manageable and to be honest worked to my surprise.  I had tried many diets, exercise regimes and more.  This one for some reason was very doable, I commend it to you. I posted a before and after picture below as well.
