Collect for the Week
The 8th Sunday
after Epiphany

Most loving Father, whose will it is for us to give thanks for all things, to fear nothing but the loss of you, and to cast all our care on you who care for us: Preserve us from faithless fears and worldly anxieties, that no clouds of this mortal life may hide from us the light of that love which is immortal, and which you have manifested to us in your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Dear Friends,

I finishing up a week of writing in cool, crisp, mountain air of the North Carolina High Country.  I spent the week reading theology, nestled by a fire in the shadow of Grandfather Mountain and then hammering out thoughts, ideas and more.  It was a productive time with a great deal of editing done and I can feel I am winding down to the end of this task. It has been a lengthy process and at times daunting.  I do feel this study on worship has enriched me personally and I am better for taking on this work.   Please pray for me as I hope to continue a steady effort until it is done.  I return the middle of this week.

I am grateful to Pastor Robin for her taking on many things in my absence.  She is a gift to Incarnation and Canterbury and more specifically to me in sharing the load of this dual calling. Through this week if you have a need Pastor Robin is the person to contact.  (robin@incarnationoviedo.com / 407-234-8771)

Beginning on this Sunday and continuing through the season of Lent  we will have two prayer teams available to offer healing prayers while people are receiving communion.  More on this at the service or you can contact Pastor Robin.  Please see this as an opportunity for encouragement and a means of grace in your life as we all seek healing and wholeness for body, soul, mind and spirit.

There are lots of opportunities for fellowship and I want to encourage all of you to participate in the upcoming Diocesan Lenten Retreat on Missions at Canterbury. Here is a PDF file about the retreat CLICK HERE
As we enter the season of Lent, I think it is timely to contemplate and consider our calling to proclaim the Gospel by word and deed and to make disciples.  That is why we are...

in the mission,
Father Jon+

A Prayer to Guide our Search

Be with us and guide us, Holy Spirit of God, as we seek your will for the future of our Diocese.  Help us to discern the needs and hopes of your people in Central Florida, so that our search for a Bishop may proceed with clear vision and joyful obedience. We pray through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen.
