Collect for the Week
The Second Sunday after Epiphany
Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that your people, illumined by your Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ's glory, that he may be known, worshipped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Dear Friends,
We have our annual meeting this Sunday and this reminder is directed to the members of Incarnation. There are many other folks who receive these posts so I ask your prayers fro the Mission in Oviedo as we do our annual business, elect vestry members and such.
Our Annual meeting is Sunday, January 23rd between the services at 10am. Here are a few details.
* We will be meeting in the chapel. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level I and II will be running in the Folwell building.
* We will offer a "yummy" light breakfast (breakfast casseroles, fruit, juice and coffee)
* Greg Seavers our treasurer will present the budget for 2011 that the vestry approved.
* There will be a "State of the Mission" address by me regarding where we have been, where we are, why we are here and where we are going.
* We will hear from our Senior Warden, Jeff Woodside.
* We will be electing three folks to serve on our vestry and then submit those names to our Bishop for his approval and appointment. These folks will fill the slots for those vestry members whose terms are expiring: Mike Piercy, Junior Warden; Brad Crandell; Ed Ghiglieri. We currently have three wonderfully qualified candidates:
Dr. Randi Rodriguez Mr. Tommy Hagood Mr. Michael Bailey
We will open for nominations from the floor. If we do not receive any, than these three folks will be elected by default. I would appreciate the courtesy of knowing by Saturday (1/22) if there will be any other candidates nominated for vestry as we need to certify that they qualify and it will impact our planning for the meeting. (if we have an election, we will provide an opportunity for those working in the atriums at Catechesis to vote) If you have questions or names to submit please contact me (jon@incarnationoviedo.com / cell: 321-436-8006 )
If you have any questions about the meeting or any other issue that I can help with please let me know. Join me in this prayer for our meeting from the Book of Common Prayer (p.818) Almighty and everliving God, source of all wisdom and understanding, be present with those who take counsel at Church of the Incarnation in Oviedo, Florida for the renewal and mission of your Church. Teach us in all things to seek first your honor and glory. Guide us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. in the mission, Father Jon+ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A Few Things....
