Dear Friends,
I tend to get somewhat reflective at this time of year looking at all that has transpired in the last twelve months. 2010 has been very full to say the least! We returned to Canterbury as the home for Church of the Incarnation. there has been a lot of sweat equity in this venture and in all of it our life as a congregation has been enriched. I believe Canterbury is being enriched as well with the presence of the church on its campus.
We added staff... So thrilled with Pastor Robin and her family joining in the work and mission. She has lifted much of the burden of this dual calling and more so contributed grace, kindness and love to our effort.
We added a service... We are now positioned to grow and I believe we will see greater growth in 2011.
We added Catechesis of the Good Shepherd / Level II... and our children are being formed in the historic Christian Faith in profound ways.
Other highlights include: * Two classes of Financial Peace University (thanks Sue!) * Guest preachers: Dean Rick Lobs; Dr. Carla Waterman; Mike Atkins, Dave Buehring, Dr. Steve Harper; Bishop Alden Hathaway, Saint Nicholas, and more * many wonderful dinners and meals together - Shrove Tuesday Mardi Gras, St. Patricks Day; Fellowship Breakfasts in the summer months * In September we celebrated our fourth anniversary as a mission congregation. * We have seen people raised up and serving in various ministries and several in the ordination process: Gary Jackson; Heather Starr; Jose Rodriguez; Jada Kearns; and our recently ordained Deacon, Dick Costin ( see a note from Deacon Dick below). * Others are volunteering at Canterbury and taking the initiative to move us forward in the mission.
In all this I give THANKS! What an amazing calling and as we approach the celebration of the Incarnation I rejoice in the celebration of Jesus' coming to save redeem and reconcile us to Almighty God! I also rejoice and celebrate in Oviedo, Florida, Incarnation as a community of faith bound together in love. I think we are just get a glimpse of all God has for us.
I would ask you to consider a special year end, Christmas contribution to Incarnation in thanksgiving for all God has done and is doing in our midst. We are blessed and your gift at this time will help us continue to grow the church and the Kingdom of God in Oviedo. If you have questions about this please contact me directly.
May we all rejoice to see his coming! I am yours...

A note from Deacon Dick... To the Incarnation Congregation, I must express my deep gratitude and humility to you all for the heartfelt, warm and loving welcome to your clergy team that you have given me. The joy is overwhelming. And thank you all so much for the generosity of your giving. It will go far in helping me acquire some of the necessary tools of the trade and the funding of the clergy discretionary fund which is always in need. Being a part of the Incarnation family is just a wonderful place to be.
Thank you and blessings, Deacon Dick Costin Organic Discipleship resumes January 5th and 6th 2011
