What a glorious Ordination and Celebration of DEACON DICK COSTIN!

Join me in giving thanks for Dick and Sandra and for Dick's Ordination on Saturday at the Cathedral.
I am traveling Sunday afternoon and Monday to visit with Harry & Judy Tysinger. When I was 13 years old Harry & Judy, my family (and others) were members of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Newnan, Georgia. Harry and Judy took an interest in the young people of St. Paul's initiating a youth ministry effort by leading a youth retreat to the North Georgia Mountains, Unicoi State Park (near Helen, GA). There on Saturday night August 25th, 1973 I prayed and my faith became real in an encounter with Jesus Christ that changed my life.
Here is the campsite where I prayed, repented and believed in Christ Jesus to save me from my sin and make me a new creation...
In this season as we have considered a journey into a deeper faith and commitment to know the Lord - pause for a moment and give thanks for the faithful saints who invested in you and led you to faith. Who was your John the Baptist that prepared the way for the Lord to enter your life? This begs a second question... Who are you preparing the way of the Lord for; who are you sharing the Gospel of Jesus with in your life and circle of influence? As my friend Steve Brown would... Now you think about that.
Rejoice and give thanks for our redemption draws ever closer as we like shepherds run to greet the New Born King!
