Dear Friends,

I spoke on Sunday in my sermon quoting our good friend Dave Buehring regarding the WAYS OF GOD.  Dave defines the ways of God as...  A truth, principle or value born out of the character of God, founded on scripture, and universally, timelessly and practically applied (within any culture - anytime - to anyone)  

This is a pattern for us to live and a message for us to proclaim. When we walk in this form of discipleship we build healthy, whole, and productive lives.  These values, truths and principles become a sure foundation and should be the mark of every follower of Jesus. How do we learn these truths? We engage scripture - personally and corporately; we sit under solid biblical teaching; we fellowship; we pray; we listen; we worship; we serve.  This is how we learn the ways of God.

I know all of this sounds like a laundry list of things added to your already busy day but I would challenge you with this... Add one of these disciplines to your life and see how it will make a difference.  Attend Organic Discipleship, come to Morning Prayer once a week, volunteer to serve, read a short devotion every morning (if you need a suggestion - just let me know) and I promise you it will transform you.  Actually my promise is minor compared to what God promises all of us:

"You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD"  - Jeremiah 29:13-14

An opportunity awaits the seeker to mine the depth of treasure found in Almighty God.  May we all spend our lives, our energy on the things that matter most.  I am yours...
