Dear Friends,
What a great day at Incarnation! We celebrated in style our 4th Anniversary of being an organized mission in the Diocese of Central Florida. Four years ago we held our first public worship service in the St. Augustine Chapel at Canterbury and we now find ourselves back there in this beautiful sacred space. I am amazed at this journey and confident that Almighty God continues to order our steps. I am reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6...
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
As we walk through life we have a fundamental choice - do we trust the Lord or do we trust our own ability and understanding? Do we acknowledge, recognize, affirm the Lordship of Almighty God over our lives or do we try and do live life on our own? I know when we submit to the Lord it is for our benefit and leads us to health, wholeness, peace and joy. Incarnation's journey as a congregation has had its ups and downs, our twists and turns but we remain committed to following Jesus wherever He leads and in doing so we receive the Lord's greatest blessing and in turn become a blessing to others.
Words are not sufficient for me to express my gratitude for this calling as Vicar. It is a great joy to grow in Christ with you all day by day. Much has been accomplished but I believe we are just hotting our stride, equipped with what we need to advance the Kingdom of God into this world. Another verse comes to mind...
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him - (1Corinthians 2:9)
There is a promise of a future and a hope, amazing, life changing, wonderful things we cannot even imagine - for all of us as we intentionally seek the Lord and follow Jesus...
in the Mission, Fr. Jon
