Dear Friends,
Sunday was great... Between the two services we had 135+ in attendance. The Ministry Fair was tremendous (thanks to all who contributed and Simone for coordinating). Thanks also to our friend Dave Buehring for a meaningful sermon that touched many of us reminding us of our call. You can listen to the sermon on the website Click Here
A new chapter in our life begins... 2 services - 8:30am and 11:00am! After much prayer, deliberation and seeking the Lord, we came to this decision that it was time to add a second service. The foundational reason is we were consistently filling the St. Augustine Chapel to capacity. This will give us some room to grow and space to welcome new folks into the fold. The services will be identical in their design so the "same" worship experience will be offered at each time.
This comes at a cost. In some ways the congregation will be divided - that is people will gravitate to one service or another. It means we must be more intentional about our fellowship and involvement in Christian Formation and fellowship. Classes will be offered starting September 12th at 10am. I hope those who come early will stay and those who attend the later service will come early so in this time we can all be together.
On September 12th we will celebrate our 4th anniversary of being a mission congregation of the Diocese of Central Florida. An amazing four years it has been! According to the National Network of Child Care a 4 year old is best described as...
* Energetic and imaginative
* feel good about things they can do
* You should encourage them to tell stories

I think this is a good start on a description. In our journey we are at a place of great energy and expectation as we move forward in faith. We are imagining ourselves in new ways - a new place, new staff, new programs and more. We have accomplished much and have skills and abilities we did not have when birthed four years ago. Finally we have a story to tell one of grace and hope, faith and love. Our message is a story of redemption, God sent His Son to rescue us from sin and death, in doing so He brings us eternal life.
May our skills increase, may we grow in our knowledge and love for Jesus Christ, may we love God and one another and go into all the world making disciples; all for the sake of the Kingdom and the King who loves us more than we can fathom.
in the Mission,
Fr. Jon
A Few Things...
On Sunday We had a reporter and a photographer from the Orlando Sentinel visiting Incarnation and Canterbury. I was hoping this would be published this week but it looks like sometime in the week of August 29th there will be an article on Incarnation and Canterbury partnering together in the Sentinel. My sense is this will be a main feature as this reporter has invested 5+ hours in this story just with us and he shared with me he was doing research on other Conference Centers and how they are "surviving" in this troubled economy. Please pray that this article will help tell the journey we are walking in a way that would invite people to join us.
This past week I was blessed to be a part of a conference with Henry Blackaby, John Perkins and Charles MacKenzie. Between these 3 men they have over 171 years of experience in serving the Lord. Henry Blackaby said something I have been "chewing on" since I heard it. A leader gets people to follow them. A spiritual leader gets people to follow Jesus. I pray to be a Spiritual Leader!
Be sure to check the other announcements in the left column. There is a lot going on...
