Dear Friends,

I spoke on Sunday regarding the "Cadence of the Kingdom".  In this world there are all sorts of rhythms competing for our time, energy and effort.  There are relationships and obligations and in all of them we should bend our ear to the beat that calls us to deeper faith and love for Christ Jesus. There is a way in which we are to live as followers and disciples and it is involves saying no the the world, the flesh and the devil and yes to God!  Discipleship is that simple.

yes rock

Years ago a friend gave me a rock with the word "YES" carved into it.  It is my "YES" Rock and they were thanking me for all the times I had said yes to God and how those "yeses" had made a difference in so many lives.  This rock sits on a book shelf in my home office and I see it often.  I want to live a life that is a constant yes to God, in doing so I find joy, peace, hope and love and as I said on Sunday this is being "rich toward God"

in the Mission,
Fr. Jon

A Few Things...
New schedule beginning August 22nd...

8:30am First Service / Holy Communion Rite II
11:00am Second Service / Holy Communion Rite II

Ministry Fair on August 22nd and 29th at 10:00am
Christian Formation begins September 12th at 10:00am (more on this soon)

Be sure to check the other announcements in the left column.  There has been a lot going on...

The road is completed and with each rain it solidifies and gets "tighter".  The Chapel floor is painted and all the interior woodwork has a fresh coat of stain. The Daughters of the King (with some help from some sons) have "rehabbed" the Memorial Garden. Concrete was poured and we now have some designated Handicap parking next to the chapel (paint and signs will go up soon)  A new sign will be going up on the brick wall at the entrance - look for that in the next couple of weeks. Over all Canterbury is looking like a new place!

All of this work is to prepare us for the our "premiere" of Church of the Incarnation at Canterbury.  We continue to need volunteers and folks to step up for ministries that are short staffed. So we continue in recruitment mode

as we move toward the "premiere" in late August with expanded Christian Formation and an additional service.  We need more folks on Altar Guild; Christian Formation volunteers with our youth and children; ushers; hospitality; greeters; readers and more.   If you are interested please contact Father Jon to discuss where you might plug in and contribute the mission.  jon@incarnationoviedo.com or call Fr. Jon's cell 321-436-8006

Seminary Fund...
Additionally we are raising money to help Seminary students and right now our "project student" is Gary Jackson as he travels to Nashotah House to complete his Anglican Studies over the next year.  You can make a tax deductible donation by writing a check to Church of the Incarnation and tag it for Seminary Fund.
