Father Jon and Krissy Todd of Hope Foundation Dear Friends, If you missed Sunday you missed a lot! We had a great breakfast (Thanks Pryor and Alex for cooking!) Fabulous food and fellowship as we heard from Krissy Todd about the ministry of Hope Foundation in our community. Check out their website at http://www.helpforthehomeless.net/pages/
Then at our service Krissy shared about the blessings of her calling in this ministry to those who have needs. (There is a link to her message below - worth a listen for sure) Her energy, passion and excitement in this calling is amazing and contagious. We have partnered and supported Hope the last couple of years and worked on the Christmas in the City event as well. It is a worthy effort and they are changing this corner of the world with compassion and kindness, sharing the Gospel with those desperate for GOOD NEWS! There are pictures from our day together CLICK HERE
This coming Sunday is Food Sunday and Hope runs the Oviedo Food Bank we support. During the summer they are running a "kids lunch" program - as there are many kids whose only meal each day comes from the school system and when school is on break they do not get that meal. Specific needs are for Peanut Butter, Jelly, canned food like ravioli, spaghetti, and other quick meal item - kids eat. All other nonperishable food items are needed too. So bring some food for Hope next week. We talk about seeing the Kingdom of God in this world. We hope when people see Incarnation they glimpse people who love God, love each other and share this love with the world by "word and deed". (Great Commandment and Great Commission) As I said on Sunday you see the Kingdom of God in what Hope is doing. The huge gift is we get to partner with them and share in the Kingdom JOY!
in the Mission, Fr. Jon
A FEW THINGS...
Be sure to check the pother announcements in the left column. Work begins Monday on resurfacing the road to the Chapel. Pray this goes "smoothly" (couldn't resist the pun) as all the bumps and pot holes are re-graded and finished with a crushed concrete.
Seminary Fund... We are raising money to
help Seminary students and right now our "project student" is Gary
Jackson as he travels to Nashotah House to complete his Anglican Studies
over the next year. You can make a tax deductible donation by writing a
check to Church of the Incarnation and tag it for Seminary Fund.
We are in recruitment mode as we move toward the "premiere" in late August with expanded Christian Formation and an additional service. We need more folks on Altar Guild; Christian Formation volunteers with our youth and children; ushers; hospitality; greeters; readers and more. If you are interested please contact Father Jon to discuss where you might plug in and contribute the mission. jon@incarnationoviedo.com or call Fr. Jon's cell 321-436-8006
